Mario Bloomfield was born and raised in St. Mary, Jamaica. He spent his later adolescence in Prince George's County, Maryland. As a child, he discovered his passion for visual arts with a simple pencil and paper in hand. His current work utilizes oil paint and pastels to explore his unique interpretations of historical and cultural figures, as well as entertainers. He accredits his artistic growth to his high school art teacher, Arnold Hurley. Mario has been teaching art in the public school system for over 12 years. When he is not teaching, he is facilitating private and group art lessons, illustrating children's books, and designing artwork for clothing apparel.
